Getting started

Do I need an account?
No. There's no account and no login. Open Bhoto and take your first photos.

How do I take good progress photos?
Prop your phone up at about waist height, choose "Propped up", tap Start and step back. Bhoto tells you where to stand and takes each photo when you're still. Try to use the same spot and light each time.

Which angles can I take?
Front and back by default, and the left and right sides are one tap away in Settings > Your plan.

Can I add photos I already have?
Yes. On Today, tap "Import photos I already have" and pick them from your library.

Privacy

Can you see my photos?
No. Your photos, weight and notes stay on your iPhone. We never receive them. See our Privacy Policy for the details.

Can I lock the app?
Yes. Turn on the lock in Settings and Bhoto asks for Face ID or your passcode when it opens.

What do the covers do?
When you share, Bhoto covers your face and chest by default, and you can cover any other spot by tapping it. Always check the preview before sharing: covers are a best effort.

Moving to a new iPhone and backups

Will my photos move to a new iPhone?
Yes, if you use your iPhone's own backup (iCloud Backup or a computer) or Apple's phone-to-phone transfer.

Can I keep my own backup?
Yes. Go to Settings > Your data > Back up to a file. Choose a password you'll remember: nobody can open the file without it, including us. To bring it back, use Restore from a backup.

How do I export everything?
Settings > Your data > Export all photos and data makes a zip of your photos and spreadsheets of your weights and measurements.

Bhoto Pro

What does Pro add?
Before and after comparisons with a slider, videos and GIFs of your progress, your weight trend and pace, sharing your comparisons, and sharing without the Bhoto mark. Tracking is free.

How much is it?
One payment, shown in the app before you buy. No subscription. New users get a free 2-week trial that never charges.

I bought Pro on another iPhone.
Open the Pro screen and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account.

How do I get a refund?
Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com.

Deleting your data

Deleting Bhoto deletes everything it stored on your iPhone. You can also delete single photos, check-ins and weights, or everything at once in Settings > Your data. Back up or export first if you want to keep anything.
